Itinerary:

Starting your day with a delicious breakfast, get ready to explore the stunning coastal city of Essaouira on this day trip from Marrakech. Our professional guide will pick you up from your accommodation, and we will hit the road towards Essaouira, located on the Atlantic coast. The journey to Essaouira is a scenic drive that takes around three hours, passing through a beautiful landscape of argan trees, small Berber villages, and stunning views of the Atlas Mountains. Keep your camera ready as we might even spot tree-climbing goats that are munching on argan fruits!

Upon arrival in Essaouira, we will start our adventure by exploring the charming old town and the medina, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The town’s narrow streets, art galleries, fresh seafood stalls, and vibrant street vendors are a treat for the senses. Our first stop will be the medina’s vibrant souks, where you can buy a variety of locally made artisan goods such as textiles, pottery, spices, and jewelry. Next, we will visit Scala, the 18th-century fortification built by the Portuguese, which offers magnificent views of the port and the city. After a leisurely stroll through the medina, it’s time for a well-deserved lunch break. We will take you to one of the many seafood restaurants in Essaouira, where you can savor the catch of the day and indulge in the town’s famous cuisine.

In the afternoon, we will explore the coastal part of Essaouira, starting with a visit to the port, where local fishermen sell their fresh catch of the day. The port is a fascinating place to visit, with its bustling markets, traditional boats, and the famous blue boats that make for some great photos. Next, we will visit the fortresses that were built centuries ago to protect the city from invaders. The fortresses are iconic landmarks of Essaouira and provide an excellent opportunity for some stunning photos.

Our next stop will be the Sgala de la Kasbah, located along the coast. Here, you can get an idea of what the historical Essaouira looked like centuries ago, with its ancient architecture still intact. Afterward, we will head to the beach for a walk and some relaxation time. The Essaouira beach is a beautiful site, where you can admire kite surfers who do their amazing stunts in the water.
