DAY 1: ARRIVAL AT TANGIER AIRPORT

Known as the Blue Pearl, Chefchaouen is a serene haven with charming blue-painted buildings and narrow alleys that exude a tranquil ambiance. Take your time to explore the city, wander through its blue streets, and appreciate the striking blue walls and staircases that adorn every corner of the town. You will also have the opportunity to taste local cuisine at one of the nearby restaurants, which will offer a delightful dining experience. As you stroll through the winding cobbled streets, you will notice the locals’ traditional attire, with women sporting vibrant straw hats and men wearing Djellabas. Along the way, we will cross the stunning Rif mountains and take in the breathtaking scenery of nature. Our first stop will be at the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, where you’ll have the opportunity to witness the fascinating ruins and learn about the history of one of the oldest places in the country.

After exploring Volubilis, we’ll travel a few kilometers to Meknes, one of the four imperial cities that has a rich history and culture to share. You’ll get to see the Bab Mansour, the biggest door in Africa, located in the famous square of Lahdim, where you can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the street storytellers and public shows. We’ll also take a short tour around the old medina before heading to Fes in the late afternoon. We’ll spend the night in a comfortable Riad or hotel, ready for a new day of adventure in the vibrant city of Fes.

 DAY 5: EXPLORING FES – SIGHTSEEING

After enjoying a delicious breakfast in your Riad or hotel, get ready for an exciting day exploring the imperial city of Fes. With the help of a knowledgeable local guide, we’ll begin our tour of the old Medina, one of the oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods in Morocco. You’ll have the opportunity to wander through the traditional souks and marvel at the ornate gates of the royal palace. We’ll also visit the famous Karaouine University, the world’s oldest university still in operation. After a delicious lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant, we’ll continue our adventure by visiting the Batha Museum and the Nejjarine Fountain. And to end our day on a high note, we’ll stop at a terrace café to take in the stunning panoramic view of the city before returning to our Riad for the night. This will undoubtedly be a day filled with culture, history, and delicious cuisine.

 DAY 6: FROM FES TO MERZOUGA VIA IFRANE, AZROU, MIDELT, AND ARFOUD 

Starting early in the morning from Fes, you’ll embark on a breathtaking journey through the Atlas Mountains. As you leave the city behind, you’ll pass through the charming ski resort town of Ifrane, which was designed in the style of a Swiss village by the French in the 1930s. From there, you’ll make your way to the stunning Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you can catch a glimpse of Barbary macaque monkeys and the majestic Middle Atlas Mountains. The majority of your day will be spent traversing winding roads that lead through magnificent forests, babbling streams, jagged rock walls, and traditional Berber villages. As you cross the Atlas Mountains and start to descend toward the Sahara Desert, you’ll stop for a delicious lunch in the quaint and scenic town of Midelt, known for its fossils and unique rock formations.

 DAY 8: FROM MERZOUGA TO DADES VALLEY VIA RISSANI AND TODRA GORGES

On the ninth day of your 12 days tour from Tangier, you’ll be leaving the Sahara behind and heading towards the majestic Todra Gorge, located in the eastern part of Morocco. On the way, we’ll pass through some of the most scenic routes in the country, which are dotted with Berber settlements, lush palm groves, and vast expanses of desert. After reaching the town of Rissani, which is considered the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, we’ll continue our journey towards Tinghir, a charming town that boasts stunning views of the surrounding mountains. As we approach the gorge, you’ll notice the landscape changing dramatically, with towering limestone cliffs rising hundreds of meters into the sky.

The Todra Gorge, which has been carved out over thousands of years by the Todra River, is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Morocco.  DAY 9: FROM DADES VALLEY TO MARRAKECH VIA OUARZAZATE AND AIT BEN HADDOU

In Ouarzazate, you will have the opportunity to explore the city’s well-known movie sets and studios. Known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” the city has been used as a filming location for many famous movies and TV shows, including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. You can visit the Atlas Film Studios, where you can see various sets, props, and costumes used in the movies. On the way to Marrakech, you will pass through the stunning Tizi n’Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains. You will have the opportunity to stop at various viewpoints to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys, and Berber villages. You can also take a break at a local Berber cooperative to learn about their culture, traditions, and handicrafts.

Once you arrive in Marrakech, you can check into your Riad, a traditional Moroccan house with an interior garden or courtyard.  DAY 10: DISCOVERING MARRAKECH

During the city tour of Marrakech, you will have the opportunity to explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the city. You will start by visiting the famous Jamaa El Fna, the vibrant main square of Marrakech where you can witness street performers, snake charmers, and food stalls serving local delicacies.  DAY 12: BACK TO MARRAKECH FROM ESSAOUIRA
