Welcome to our 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech, where you will embark on an unforgettable journey through some of the most beautiful and culturally rich destinations in Morocco. This itinerary is designed to showcase the best of Morocco, from the charming Swiss-inspired town of Ifrane to the majestic Sahara Desert, and from the imperial cities to the stunning High Atlas Mountains. With camel rides, Berber camp experiences, and visits to famous film locations, this tour promises to leave you with a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural heritage of this incredible country. Join us on this adventure and experience the magic of Morocco in just five days.

DAY 1: FES TO MERZOUGA SAHARA VIA IFRANE, MIDELT AND ZIZ VALLEY

On the first day of the 5 days desert tour, we’ll pick you up early in the morning from your Fes accommodation or the airport. Our journey begins with a scenic drive south through Imouzzer, stopping first at Ifrane. This charming town is famous for its snowy winter weather and alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we’ll explore the nearby cedars forest, home to playful Barbary Macaques. You can even feed them as we wander through the forest.

Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey to Midelt, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, we’ll head towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and admiring the picturesque views of the Ziz river. As the afternoon turns into evening, we’ll arrive at the breathtaking Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you’ll hop on a camel and ride through the sandy dunes to watch the sunset from the top of a high dune. Then, we’ll head to the luxurious desert campsite, where you can enjoy the mesmerizing Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire beneath the vast, star-filled sky. We’ll have dinner at the camp, followed by a peaceful overnight stay.

DAY 2: MERZOUGA’S SIGHTS, K,HAMLIA, ERG CHEBBI AND PALM GROVES

To fully experience the beauty of the Sahara, rising early to witness the captivating sunrise is a must. After a free breakfast, return to Merzouga on camelback and meet your driver to begin exploring the region. There are countless stunning sites to see, including sand dunes, fossil areas, wild lakes, and fabulous oases, offering ample opportunity for outdoor activities. Our first stop is an ancient eyeliner mine, accessed by an off-road drive from Merzouga. Next, visit the nomads and enjoy Berber tea while learning about their lifestyle in their handmade woven tents. Continue to Khamlia village, known for its lively Gnaoua music and dance performances, showcasing the sub-Saharan cultures of Mali, Sudan, and Niger.

After a break for lunch at a local restaurant, take a stroll through a nearby palm grove. Finally, drive a few kilometers to witness the stunning Merzouga Lake, also known as the flamingo lake. The evening brings dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

DAY 3: MERZOUGA, RISSANI, ERFOUD, TODRA GORGES, AND DADan ES VALLEY

After enjoying breakfast in the desert, we depart from the desert and head to Rissani town, the former capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still a bustling hub for trade in the region, with a vibrant souk that springs to life on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After exploring Rissani Souk, we proceed to Erfoud, where we will visit one of the fossilized marble workshops. Next, we traverse the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves and arrive at the breathtaking Todra Gorges.

The Todra river has carved out a magnificent canyon through the mountains, resulting in high red cliff-sided canyons that are perfect for rock climbers. Take some time to stroll through the gorges and take in the stunning scenery. We will stop at a restaurant for lunch. From there, we continue on to the Dades valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we will stop to admire the “monkey fingers” rock formation and a breathtaking view of the Dades valley from atop a mountain. Finally, we will enjoy dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

DAY 4: DISCOVERING DADES, ROSES VALLEYS, PALM GROVES, AND OUARZAZATE

After breakfast on day 4, we’ll head to Kalaa Magouna, also known as the Rose Valley. If you’re traveling in May, you may have the chance to attend the annual Rose Festival, where locals celebrate the harvest of fragrant roses and offer a range of rose products such as perfume, rose water, oil, and cosmetic products. Afterward, we’ll have some free time for lunch before continuing our journey. We’ll drive through the beautiful palm groves of Skoura and visit the Kasbah of Amridil, a magnificent fortress that has been beautifully preserved and showcases traditional Moroccan architecture.

Finally, we’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Here, we’ll visit the film studios where many famous movies have been shot, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. We’ll also explore the impressive Taourirt Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that dates back to the 18th century. After a long day of sightseeing, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in a comfortable riad/hotel.

DAY 5: EXPLORE AIT BEN HADDOU KASBAH, HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS, AND MARRAKECH

On our final day, we embark on a journey to explore one of Morocco’s most famous landmarks, the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. This fortified village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has been featured in numerous Hollywood movies such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as the popular TV series Game of Thrones. After exploring the Kasbah, we make our way to Marrakech by driving through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, a breathtaking route that takes us through the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make stops to enjoy a delicious lunch and to take in the stunning scenery at some of the most picturesque spots.

Finally, we’ll drop you off at the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech, marking the end of our 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech. It’s been an unforgettable adventure filled with incredible sights, sounds, and experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.
