DAY 1: EXPLORE ATLAS MOUNTAINS, AIT BENHADDOU, AND DADES VALLEY

After breakfast, your 4 days tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert begins. Our comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle will pick you up from your Marrakech hotel. Your journey will take you through popular tourist destinations like Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate. The scenic road trip allows you to enjoy the picturesque High Atlas Mountains and the spectacular landscape along the Tizi n’Tichka pass 7414 ft (2260m). We will make several stops along the way for you to take pictures of the stunning view. When we arrive in Ait-Benhaddou, we will visit the ancient Kasbahs. Estimated to be over 1200 years old, these fortified, red-earthen villages provide a glimpse of ancient Morocco. You may recognize this location from its appearance in the popular Game of Thrones series. Enjoy lunch in this historical city, sampling the local cuisine and centuries-old recipes.

In the afternoon, we’ll take a scenic desert road trip to Ouarzazate city. Here we will stop near the Atlas Studios for a photo session before heading downtown for a panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt. Ouarzazate’s exotic backdrop has made it a favorite for many movies and TV shows. Along the way, you’ll pass through small, lush oasis towns. From here, we’ll continue our journey to the Dades Valley where we’ll spend the night.

 DAY 2: DISCOVERING TODRA GORGE, ERFOUD, AND MERZOUGA

On this day of your 4 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga desert, you’ll start the day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Afterward, we’ll embark on a scenic road trip toward the stunning Todra Gorge. Along the way, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Dades Valley, where you can take pictures and marvel at the lush landscapes. As we continue our journey, we’ll pass through Tinghir, where you can take more pictures and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Finally, we’ll arrive at the Todra Gorges, where you’ll be wowed by the massive canyons that split the orange limestone into a deep ravine over 400 meters deep. You’ll also have the opportunity to hike the Todra River Gorge on foot and take as many pictures as you like against the stunning backdrop. It’s an experience that will stay with you forever.

After enjoying the Todra Gorge, we’ll continue our road trip and we’ll enjoy lunch and visit a local craft workshop to see the fossil extraction. You can purchase unique souvenirs too! Then, we head to Merzouga for camel rides with stunning desert views before ending at a Berber/Luxury camp in the Sahara Desert. Finally, enjoy your dinner around the campfire, traditional music, and dance performances, then end with an unforgettable night under stars beneath vast skies.

DAY 3: KHAMLIA, RISSANI AND MERZOUGA EXPLORATION

On this day of your Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour, you will be treated to a unique experience – witnessing the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes. The morning will then be capped off with a camel ride back to Merzouga, where we will embark on an immersive journey into the desert. Our first stops will be at Hassilabied, around the sand dunes of Erg Chebbie and the Khamlia village, where we will listen to the local tribes playing live Gnawa music. We will then travel even deeper into the desert to visit the Lak Dayte Srij. Later, we will spend the afternoon in Rissani, a commercial town known for its souks. After a traditional lunch, we will drive back to Merzouga to spend the night in a Riad or a Desert Hotel, allowing you to rest and recuperate after a wondrous day in the desert.

 DAY 4: FROM MERZOUGA TO OUARZAZATE AND MARRAKECH

On the final day of our 4 days tour from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert, we will kick off with a hearty breakfast before setting off on the road. Our journey will take us back through Rissani and onwards to Alnif, a small town offering plenty of opportunities for exploration. After a delightful lunch, we will continue our travels to the Tazarine oasisOasis, where we can revel in its lush greenery. We will then make our way to the Nkob oasis for another beautiful experience before passing through the picturesque Draa Valley.

Our drive will take us through Agdz, the Ait Saoun pass (5440 ft, or 1660 meters above sea level), Ouarzazate, and Ait Benhaddou, as we make our way back to Marrakech. In the evening, we will arrive at our destination, and our 4 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour will come to a close. Our driver will drop you off at your riad or hotel, and you can look back fondly on this extraordinary 4 days adventure through the Moroccan desert.
