DAY 1: MARRAKECH TO AIT BENHADDOU

The 10 days tour from Marrakech starts with an early morning pick-up from your riad or hotel after breakfast. Our comfortable air-conditioned vehicle will take you towards Ait Benhaddou village, offering stunning views of the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we will make several stops for you to capture pictures of the snow-capped peaks and breathtaking landscapes along Tizi n’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2260m.

Once we reach Ait Benhaddou, we will explore the Ait-Ben-Haddou Kasbah, a significant historic landmark in Morocco. This fortified red-earthen village has structures built centuries ago that are still intact today. Walking through the beaten passageways of this kasbah feels like a journey back in time to the medieval world. The city has been featured in many Hollywood movies, such as Gladiator, Sahara, and Game of Thrones TV series. You will have ample time to take pictures and learn more about the local tribes in the region. After a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant, we will visit the Kasbah of Tamdaght, just 6 km from Ait Benhaddou. In the evening, we will climb the fortress of Ait Benhaddou to witness a magical sunset. Our driver will then take you to your riad or hotel for the night.

DAY 2: DISCOVERING OUARZAZATE

Starting the day early, we will have the opportunity to witness and capture the breathtaking sunrise over the Ait Benhaddou village. Once we have enjoyed a delicious breakfast, we will embark on a picturesque journey towards Ouarzazate. As we approach the city, the landscape transforms into a magnificent desert vista, punctuated by several quaint Berber villages where we will make stops. Unlike Ait Benhaddou, Ouarzazate boasts a wider range of attractions, including the famous Atlas Film Studio, where we will take some memorable photos and learn about the movies that were filmed there. We will then venture downtown to explore the city’s remarkable Old-World architecture, which has earned it a reputation as a popular location for shooting blockbuster movies like Black Hawk Down, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator, among others.

Our tour will continue with a visit to the Kasbah of Tifoultout, followed by a trip to Ouarzazate’s main square, a vibrant hub of local shops and restaurants offering a wide variety of authentic Moroccan cuisine and produce. This square is also a fantastic spot for viewing the stunning desert sunset. As the evening approaches, our knowledgeable guide will accompany you to your hotel or riad, where you can relax and reflect on the memorable experiences of the day. DAY 3: TODRA GORGE TO MERZOUGA DESERT

On the third day of the tour, we will start with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a picturesque drive towards Todra Gorge. Our route will take us through several charming towns, including Kalaat M’Gouna, Boumalne, and Tinghir, before reaching the magnificent Todra Gorge. The towering canyons, which are up to 400 meters deep, provide an awe-inspiring sight that will leave you mesmerized. As we explore the Todra Valley, we’ll be surrounded by lush oases, and we’ll embark on a thrilling hike through the Todra River gorge. Photographers will find countless opportunities to capture breathtaking shots of the stunning natural scenery. For lunch, we’ll stop at a local restaurant and sample the delicious local cuisine.

Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey to Merzouga, where a thrilling camel ride awaits us. This unforgettable ride will take us on an hour and thirty-minute journey through the rolling dunes of Erg Chebbi, providing us with stunning panoramic views of the desert landscape. We’ll stop to climb some of the largest sand dunes in the area, including Erg Chaabi, and take in the spectacular sunset over the dunes. At nightfall, we’ll arrive at a Berber nomad camp, where we’ll be treated to a delicious traditional dinner, accompanied by live Berber music and dancing around the campfire. The night sky above the desert is a sight to behold, with millions of stars visible in the clear night sky, creating a magical atmosphere that will stay with you forever.

DAY 4: EXPLORING MERZOUGA’S BEAUTY

We will begin the day early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes in the Merzouga desert. Our tour guide will make sure you don’t miss this breathtaking sight and recommend that you bring a camera to capture it.

After the camel ride back to your hotel or riad, our driver will be ready to take you on an immersive off-road adventure into the Merzouga desert. Once you’ve freshened up, you’ll have access to an air-conditioned 4×4 vehicle to explore Hassilabied and Khamlia villages, meet nomads encamping in the desert, and experience live Gnawa music played by the Gnawa tribe. The off-road excursion will take you deeper into the Sahara, where you’ll see Lake Dayte Sarje, several oases near the dunes, and black volcanic rocks. In the afternoon, we’ll stop by Rissani to explore its souks and bazaars. After a full day of exploring, we’ll drive you back to your riad or hotel in Merzouga.

DAY 5: FROM MERZOUGA TO MIDELT

Our 10 days tour from Marrakech continues today as we embark on a long road trip after breakfast. We will be covering a distance of over 470 km from Merzouga to Midelt, with several stops along the way to see some of the most popular attractions. One of the cities we will visit on the way is Erfoud, also known as the fossil city of Morocco due to its rich fossil deposits. Here, we will visit a local craft workshop to see how fossils are extracted from the bedrock. Erfoud is also home to many restaurants where we can enjoy local food. We will also visit other places such as Aoufous, the Ziz Valley, and Errachidia, where we will have the opportunity to visit Berber villages and capture some great pictures.

The oasis of Aoufous is another must-see location on our journey, with its panoramic views being one of its main attractions. By the afternoon, we should reach Midelt, where we will spend the rest of the day exploring. There are several key attractions to visit here, including Aguelmous, Eglise de Midelt, Notre Dame de l’Atlas monastery, and the spectacular Gorges d’Aouli. In the evening, we can relax and enjoy the view of the sunset in Midelt.

DAY 6: AZROU, IFRANE AND FES EXPLORATION

Our journey continues today with a scenic drive towards the city of Fes, passing through some of Morocco’s most notable towns along the way. We’ll start with a hearty breakfast before embarking on our road trip, heading towards Zaida and Timahdte, where we’ll make quick stops to take in the sights and snap a few photos. But the real highlight of our journey is the cedar forest near Azrou, where we’ll spend some quality time with the friendly Barbary macaque monkeys. This stop offers the perfect opportunity to stretch our legs, indulge in some forest fruits, and play with these playful creatures.

Afterward, we’ll continue our drive through the stunning landscapes to the city of Ifrane. Known as the Moroccan Switzerland, Ifrane is famous for its pristine environment and ranks as the second cleanest city in the world. You’ll feel the refreshing change in the air as soon as we enter the city, which dates back to the 16th century. Our tour of Ifrane will include both the newer and older parts of the town, giving us a glimpse of its rich history and modern-day charm.

Finally, we’ll head towards our ultimate destination: the city of Fes. Upon arrival, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the medieval town, taking in the sights and sounds of this bustling city. We’ll then retire to our comfortable riad or hotel for a restful night’s sleep.

DAY 7: DISCOVERING THE MEDIEVAL FES

In the morning, we will pick you up from your riad or hotel to embark on a fascinating exploration of the ancient city of Fes. As the oldest of the four imperial cities of Morocco, Fes boasts an incredible history spanning over 1200 years, with its ancient features still beautifully preserved. A walk through the city’s streets is like stepping back in time, with the sights, sounds, and scents truly immersing you in medieval Morocco. We’ll begin with the two medina quarters, where we’ll marvel at the centuries-old streets. Fes el Bali is one of the most famous medinas in Fes and also the largest intact medina in the world. From here, we’ll take in the stunning sight of the minaret of the renowned Medersa Bou Inania and visit Medersa el-Attarine before stopping for lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue our exploration of Fes with visits to more fascinating sites, including the medieval Quaraouiyine Mosque, which was built in AD 857 and can hold up to 20,000 worshipers. The mosque is also home to the world’s oldest library, which houses a Qur’an from the 9th century. We’ll also visit the old Mellah (Jewish Quarter) in Fes el Jedid, along with the site of the Royal Palace adjacent to it. Other must-see attractions of the day include Bab Bou Jeloud, Chouara Tannery, and the Ibn Danan synagogue.

DAY 8: FROM FES TO MEKNES

After lunch, we’ll embark on an exciting road trip to Meknes, another imperial city that shares similarities with Fes in terms of its blend of ancient and modern civilization. The Imperial City and the bustling local medina are some of the major attractions here, along with several historical ruins that date back centuries. DAY 9: MEKNES TO RABAT ROAD TRIP

We will spend the entire morning exploring the ancient Roman ruins at Volubilis, which date back 2000 years. As one of the best-preserved Roman cities in North Africa, Volubilis offers a unique glimpse into the history and culture of the Roman Empire. The city’s impressive architecture, intricate mosaics, and other artifacts are a testament to its former glory. If you’re a fan of history and architecture, you won’t want to miss this stunning site. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the sight of the temple remains and other ancient ruins.

After our visit to Volubilis, we will return to Meknes for lunch before continuing our journey to the Imperial City of Rabat. On the way, we will pass through several fascinating towns, including Khemisset, Tiflet, Ait Malek, Sidi Allal el Bahraoli, and Sale. Quick stops for taking pictures will be provided, as each of these towns has its own unique charm and character. Along the route, we will also encounter many tribal villages and enjoy the stunning mountainous landscape. It’s truly an amazing road trip that you won’t forget. We will spend the night in Rabat, where you can relax and prepare for more adventures to come.

DAY 10: HIGHLIGHTS OF RABAT VISIT

After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the morning, our driver will pick you up from your riad or hotel, and we will embark on a fascinating tour of Rabat. As one of Morocco’s imperial cities, Rabat offers a beautiful blend of modern and ancient features that make it a gem for tourists. Founded in the 12th century, Rabat has remained an important cultural and historical center in Morocco. Our first stop will be at the Oudaias Kasbah, which houses the oldest mosque in the city. We will stroll along the medieval medina’s winding alleys, where we will see a variety of local attractions. After that, we will visit the ancient settlement of Chellah and then stop at local cafes for a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we will visit the iconic Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret, and other remnants of what was intended to be the world’s largest mosque. We will also explore the medina of Rabat before heading over to Ville Nouvelle, the new city. As its name suggests, Ville Nouvelle boasts a wealth of French-inspired architecture.
